The lead-up to the Copa Libertadores final between Atletico Mineiro and Botofogo saw some bizarre chicken-themed scenes.
In yet another all-Brazilian affair, this time at the El Monumental in Buenos Aires, tens of thousands of Brazilian fans descended on the Argentine capital.
Atletico Mineiro supporters headed for the famous San Telmo market, where they were led by club mascot Galo Doido – a giant chicken.
However, when things got out of control, the local police deemed that the chicken was the cheerleader, and wrestled him away.
Rather hilariously, the mascot kept his chicken head on as the police told him off, but local media report that no arrest was made.
Galo Doido will now be able to travel to the stadium for kick-off at 8pm.
