Napoli’s Scott McTominay has unsurprisingly been named Italian Footballer of the Year after his mega 2024/25 campaign and start to the new season.
The Scottish midfielder led Napoli to their fourth Serie A title in his debut campaign, and overall he has scored 18 goals and and recorded six assists in 68 appearances since joining.
McTominay had already won the Serie A Footballer of the Year, an award handed out by the league.
Yet this more traditional award is seen as the more prestigious, and only five players have won both.
The previous four were Lautaro Martinez, Rafael Leao, Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo.
