Jose Mourinho and Hansi Flick take language lessons for European giants

Jose Mourinho and Hansi Flick have eyes on two of the biggest jobs in European football.

Flick has been rumoured as an option for Barcelona and their president Joan Laporta, who previously registered an interest before deciding on incumbent Xavi in 2021.

Flick was the manager of Germany at the time, having left Bayern Munich after winning the treble in 2020.

Things far from worked out for Flick with the national side, failing at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup before being sacked.

Barcelona have maintained their interest though, and after reports that Flick has been learning Spanish, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano claims the 58-year-old ‘would love’ to coach Barca.

There’s also likely to be a vacancy at Flick’s old side Bayern, with Thomas Tuchel unlikely to survive a terrible campaign.

The Bundesliga giants could well end the season trophyless after a 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen last time out.

That’s piqued the interest of Jose Mourinho, who, according to multiple reports in Germany has begun learning German.

Mourinho is yet to coach in the Bundesliga, and his win-at-all-costs mentality and style would certainly suit Bayern’s mantra, even with his star power dwindling.
