Robert Lewandowski is set to be the victim of Barcelona‘s latest financial mismanagement.
The Polish striker, who joined in the summer of 2022 from Barcelona, will be asked to reduce his demands next season, according to Sport.
Lewandowski already joined on reduced terms upon his £35million move from Bayern Munich, signing a three-year deal.
However, that came with the promise of his salary increasing by €10m each year, but he’s now likely to be asked to forgo the next increase in 2024/25.
That coincides with the 35-year-old’s form dropping off dramatically this season.
Last term Lewandowski scored 33 goals in 46 games as Barca won LaLiga, but this time around he’s managed only nine in 21 with the Catalans seven points from leaders Real Madrid and Girona.
