Previously priced out of a transfer from Sporting CP, Viktor Gyokeres may well be on the move next summer.
The Lisbon-based A Bola report that the Portuguese champions will move on their €100million buy-out clause for the Swede next summer.
Gyokeres spent much of the past transfer window linked to Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea, but ended up staying and commenting on his preventative contract clause.
A Bola add that Sporting will stand firm on the €100m in January, but things will change next summer.
However, it will only be for a record fee, more than the €60m PSG paid for Manuel Ugarte.
On his part, Gyokeres is doing his best to make sure Sporting get a premium next summer. With 43 goals in 2023/24, he’s already on his way to topping that with 12 in 11 games this term.
It hasn’t all been positive, though, the 26-year-old has also had to contend with an unhelpful video of him smoking shisha at a club that raised concerns about his health.
Responding emphatically, he said: “It’s more dangerous to find me on the pitch. Maybe that’s what they should be thinking about, and not the fact that I do that sometimes.
“It was a bit unexpected that this came to light, but it’s not something I think about. People can think whatever they want and that’s not something that worries me.”
