Sergio Ramos was lucky to avoid a 28th career red card in the Sevilla derby, replays have shown.
The Real Madrid legend played a starring role in a drama-filled 1-1 draw, staging a brilliant goal-line clearance in the first half after former Los Blancos teammate Isco set up a golden chance for Pablo Fornals.
With the score level in the 58th minute, a penalty was called for an apparent slap from Badé on Isco. After a VAR review, the referee changed his mind, with Ramos celebrating wildly.
However, Movistar+ programme El día después (The Day After) has again revealed a telling moment from the weekend’s LaLiga action.
With Isco and Ramos debating the penalty, Ramos is caught tugging Isco’s ear in rather amusing but slightly alarming scenes as he certainly didn’t hold back on his former teammate.
Isco was seen in plenty of pain after the tug, but luckily for Ramos, the VAR team didn’t notice the incident.
Discussing the penalty post-match, Isco said: “He hits me, it’s a slap.
“I think the other day at the Mestalla they gave us a foul for a very similar slap, but that’s okay, that’s enough, we can’t do anything.”
