From Supercoppa champions to complete disarray, it’s all a mess for Sergio Conceiçao and Milan.
The Italian giants lost 2-1 to Bologna last night in painful fashion as the away end let their fury be known.
Despite huge investment over the past two transfer windows, Milan are now a whopping 16 points off Serie A leaders Inter and eight from the Champions League.
Conceiçao seemed like a fine hire after replacing Paulo Fonseca, but things have quickly deteriorated and he’s now offered his resignation.
“I’m calm, my situation is very simple: ‘If they don’t want me anymore, I’ll leave and I won’t ask for a single euro’,” he said post-defeat.
“I hear so much bad things about me as if I came from nowhere. I have almost 100 games in the Champions League, but every day they like to talk about me.
“In five years, I have always eliminated Italian teams that were stronger than my FC Porto.”
He continued: “I’m sorry because I’m not respected enough and I hear interviews with other coaches during the match.
“I don’t come from nowhere, I beat Sarri, Pioli and Di Francesco in Europe, only with Inter did I lose in Europe and I won 13 trophies in Portugal.
“I want respect as a person because I have a family… Sorry for the outburst.”
Later adding to his earlier point, he said: “Lately everyone writes and talks about me, but I want to say that I’m not the last to arrive.
“Every day people talk about my situation here, it’s not easy. I know what I want and what I can do, I see a lot of people talking but my situation is simple.
“If I’m no longer needed, I take my bags and leave without asking for a single euro more. I have almost 100 games in the Champions League, I’ve won 13 trophies.
“Every day people talk about me, I’ve even heard unjust nastiness.”
