Miron Muslic’s move from Plymouth to Schalke hasn’t gone down well in England or Germany.
The Bosnian-Austrian has made the switch after struggling giants Schalke triggered a release clause in his contract.
The move has infuriated Plymouth and their fans, with Muslic expressing his commitment to the club despite their relegation to the third tier.
And that relegation has left Schalke fans just annoyed, assuming Muslic isn’t good enough after heaps of coaching changes since their 2020 relegation.
Agreeing with supporters’ shock was former manager Peter Neururer, who said: “It no longer makes sense to talk about sporting matters at Schalke 04.”
Legendary coach Huub Stevens has since added: “I was also very surprised – nobody had expected that.
“Frank [Baumann, new sporting director] must have had something in mind. I’m convinced he has a plan. He must know Muslic and how he works—otherwise he wouldn’t choose him.
“I understand the fans’ anger. But ultimately, Frank and the other management make the decision. An unknown doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad idea.”
