Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed reports of a bust-up between Geoffrey Kondogbia and Arthur Vermeeren at Marseille training.
However, on this occasion the OM boss was all too delighted to see it.
At the start of the season Marseille were rocked by a dressing room fight between Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe which saw both players sold.
Yet when a series of rough fouls from Kondogbia provoked a fight in training, De Zerbi didn’t mind.
“As for Kondogbia and Vermeeren, they clashed on the pitch, but I want them to clash on the pitch,” the Italian said.
“I’d pay for them to do it. It’s different from Rennes in the locker room. It’s normal to have heated exchanges on the pitch.”
Sadly for De Zerbi the word Rennes should be a triggering one, given it’s the same opponent next up in the Coupe de France where defeat could spell his end.
