The Real Madrid media were having a field day with Vitinha, but the PSG megastar has quickly ended their fun.
Desperate for a long-term successor to Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, the Spanish press went mad when they learned of a release clause in Vitinha’s contract.
The Portuguese talent supposedly can leave for €100million if he identifies a dream team he wants to join, and many in Madrid assumed that would be them.
However, Vitinha is already at his dream club.
“It would be foolish to leave,” he said in an interview with Canal 11.
“I don’t think it would be the best thing for me. I feel very good here at PSG.
“I love being at PSG, and so does my family. We have a fantastic group and an incredible coach.
“I feel that people appreciate me a lot, and I feel that I’ve earned that affection.”
Vitinha has previously talked of his desire to return to FC Porto one day in the future, but at the age of just 26, that won’t be for a while.
No Real Madrid or Saudi Arabia for Vitinha
He also isn’t entertaining any idea of a big money move towards the end of his career, already possessing a lucrative contract in Paris that runs until 2029.
“Doubling or tripling my salary wouldn’t make me any happier,” he said when asked about following Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia.
“Let’s not be naive. I’m more committed to a stable career. I already earn very well here in Europe, at a big club.
“Doubling or tripling that salary wouldn’t make me any happier.”
