Real Madrid have quickly had to apologise for a mistake in a tribute to former Liverpool striker Diogo Jota.
Los Blancos held their Annual General Assembly on Sunday evening and during the ceremony played out a video tribute to figures who passed away over the year.
Among them was Jota, who tragically died in July in a car accident with his brother Andre Silva.
However, in the tribute video they showed a picture of Jota and Elche striker Andre Silva who is still playing in LaLiga.
Responding to the mess up, the club wrote: “Real Madrid apologizes to Elche and its player André da Silva for having mistakenly included their image instead of that of André Silva, brother of Diogo Jota, Liverpool player, in the obituary of an institutional video. We regret what happened.”
During his speech, president Florentino Perez also added an apology of his own.
