Rafael Benitez was left fuming both on the touchline and post-match after a controversial VAR call.
Celta lost 1-0 to Girona, leaving them in the relegation zone with one win and seven defeats under their new manager.
Things could have been very different, though, with Luca de la Torre putting the ball in the net with the game scoreless.
Carlos Dotor, who provided the assist, collided with Girona keeper Paulo Gazzaniga in the build up, and referee Isidro Díaz de Mera quickly blew for a free kick.
However, replays clearly showed that Gazzaniga dropped the ball before the collision, leaving Celta and Benitez fuming.

Speaking post-match, the former Liverpool manager said: “We are talking about 0-1 to 1-0. I’m not going to say anything, but I don’t understand it. Someone has to say it. It can’t be explained.
“VAR comes in, but I don’t know what it is and I don’t know what they see, no one understands it. We will try to analyze the play to see if by divine inspiration we receive an explanation.”
Despite their relegation form, Celta had Benitez’s back, posting a tweet in support.
“On nights like this we can only say: this competition deserves much more,” the club wrote.
“THERE IS NOTHING that can be compared to the togetherness of this team, of this club, of Celticism.”
