The Italian football federation (FIGC) have fined Nicolo Zaniolo for his alleged attack on two AS Roma youth team players.
The incident took place in May after a Primavera match between Zaniolo‘s former side Roma and Fiorentina who he was playing for at the time.
Both clubs commented on some form of physical confrontation, while the Galatasaray-owned winger admitted he ‘lost his temper’ but claimed there was no ‘physical violence’.
The FIGC quickly opened an investigation, and have sided against Zaniolo.
In a press release they concluded: “Having entered [the field] – at the end of the match – the A.S. Roma player, slapped the player Mattia Almaviva in the neck, and then pushed the player Marco Litti, causing physical injuries to both, with a prognosis of ten days, as per the medical certificate in the file.”
They’ve also given the former Aston Villa man a €15,000 fine.
