Booed on his return to the Bernabeu, Vinicius Jr can’t expect a let up from Real Madrid fans any time soon.
The Brazilian winger was targeted along with Jude Bellingham for the team’s torrid start to 2026.
The duo, plus Fede Valverde, have had Xabi Alonso’s firing pinned upon them by the Spanish, but Vinicius more than anyone else.
And according to Cadena SER editor Manu Carreño, it all relates back to his sulk at Alonso for subbing him off at the Camp Nou.
“The Bernabéu hasn’t forgiven him for what happened with Xabi Alonso in that gesture at the Camp Nou,” he explained.
“They haven’t forgiven him for the fact that no one reprimanded Vinicius, yet they sacked Xabi Alonso.
“I think that’s a detail that Real Madrid fans have taken personally.
“They’ve got their number because they didn’t like it. They didn’t like the player’s indifference and for opening the door for Xabi Alonso, who clearly lost his temper with the player that very day.”
