Michael Olise will not be leaving Bayern Munich, even for a staggering €200million.
That’s the view of the club’s honorary president Uli Hoeness who responded to reports that Liverpool are willing to pay such a figure for the French sensation.
Asked about the reports, he said: “If that’s true—and I don’t believe it is, but Liverpool have already spent €500 million this year and are having a very poor season.
“So we won’t be contributing to them playing better next year.”
Explaining why the money doesn’t matter, he added: “We play this game for our fans.
“We have 430,000 members, we have many millions of fans all over the world, and it does them little good if we have 200 million in the bank and then play worse football every Saturday because of it.”
Adding to Hoeness’ point was sporting director Max Eberl, who earlier commented: “Michael has a contract with us until 2029, without a release clause – we’re relaxed.”
