Marcelo Bielsa didn’t handle Uruguay’s World Cup exit well.
The former champions lost to Spain and exited the competition with a third-place finish in staggeringly disappointing fashion.
Argentine Bielsa had to speak to DAZN after the final whistle, and completely flipped his lid at a delay to the interview.
“Just do it!” he shouted at the reporter, fed up of waiting.
Later, he took full responsibility for Uruguay’s exit.
“I will leave nothing for Uruguayan football,” he said.
“Any contribution from a coach who has been working for three years is meaningless if you don’t get results.
“Fourth place in the qualifiers was worthless, third place at the Copa América was worthless, and obviously, I don’t need to comment on that performance.
“We had a quality group of players. Despite the work, the effort, and the dedication, I didn’t succeed.”
We can assume he won’t be staying in his job…
