The major of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, has insisted there’s only one stadium for the 2030 World Cup final.
The tournament, which will be held in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, looks likely to finish in Spain.
Real Madrid re-opened the Santiago Bernabéu this season to much fanfare, while Barcelona are rebuilding their Camp Nou.
Barca manager Xavi said the tournament should finish in Catalunya, but Almeida disagrees.
“Firstly, we are the world capital of football,” he said.
“Secondly, it was Spain that promoted the candidacy for the 2030 World Cup together with Portugal.
“And thirdly, obviously, all the conditions are here.”
