Lyon’s two main supporters groups have sent an open letter to John Textor after the club’s administrative relegation.
The French giants were sent down from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2 by French football’s administrative body, the DNCG, after they decided at a hearing that OL’s finances hadn’t been cleared up.
Lyon and Textor have seven days to appeal, but supporters have already made up their minds, with Textor instead spending most of his time at the Club World Cup with one of his other sides, Botafogo.
A statement from the club’s two main supporter’s groups, the Bad Gones and Kop Virage Nord has responded to the DNCG’s decision in length, including a shot at Textor.
“John Textor has never been and never will be the right man for the job,” they finished the statement.
“This Botafogo supporter must now disappear from the Lyon landscape.
“We call on his many creditors to take control and hand over the keys to Olympique Lyonnais to someone who will respect our institution and atone for the many affronts that have been made to it.
“We also call on all Olympique Lyonnais fans to come to his aid, and let them know that they will find us at their side to restore our club, our reason for living.”
