The heat is continuing on Lyon owner John Textor after the French giants were administratively relegated to Ligue 2.
The news came after the leagues administrative body, the DNCG, were left unsatisfied with the club’s finances, and they now have seven days to appeal their relegation to Ligue 2.
Lyon were provisionally relegated in December but had until the end of the season to get things sorted, a job Textor has seemingly failed at.
And one of the first to attack him was seven-time league winner Sidney Govou.
“Today, I am angry,” he told Le Parisien the morning after.
“Once again, John Textor has blown our minds. I blame the people at Lyon who whispered bad things in his ear.
“These people will have to take responsibility. In this club, no one speaks. Textor, from time to time, comes with his cowboy hat and says what he wants to say!
!Today, in meetings, no one knows, for example, the financing of the future training centre…
“Today, he no longer has any credibility in my eyes. Zero. Even if it were to pass in three weeks, he has no credibility to be president of a club like OL.”
He continued: “OL is no longer attractive, including for young players.
“This is a responsibility that falls on John Textor and all these guys who are there to do business and don’t give a damn about us.
“If OL goes under tomorrow, he’ll go back to Botafogo and do the same stupid things with Botafogo.”
In the meantime, numerous banners have appeared on the city’s landmarks with the huge words ‘Textor Out’ written across them.
