Bayern Munich’s deal for Luis Diaz continues to be questioned, this time by a club great.
The Bundesliga champions paid £65million to sign the Colombian from Liverpool, a number that was questioned due to his age of 28 and contract duration of two years.
Commenting on the deal, a former great for both teams Didi Hamann, wasn’t impressed.
“Díaz is a very good footballer, but what Bayern are doing isn’t a business model,” the Sky pundit said.
“Bringing a 28-year-old for that kind of money, then paying him more than he earned in England? Liverpool are laughing.”
He then gave some caveated positivity, adding: “They’ve brought in a very, very good player, but not cheaply.
“Díaz is a player with heart and mentality, a fighter with pace.
“He will improve Bayern from day one, the fans will love him. They’re getting a very good player but for a very high price.”
