Jarell Quansah has been good at Bayer Leverkusen, but not that good.
The former Liverpool centre-back has taken well to the Bundesliga since a €35million summer move from Anfield when a number of his teammates have struggled.
Beginning the season with Erik ten Hag, Kasper Hjulmand is now in the hot seat and receiving criticisms for his style of football.
Despite that and a poor Bundesliga campaign for the 2023/24 champions, Leverkusen are still thriving in the DFB Pokal and Champions League.
Quansah has since stepped up as a leader with a number of comments in the media, garnering him some attention back home and talks of perhaps a return to Liverpool.
Sky now claim to know how much that would cost, and it’s not exactly cheap.
Liverpool’s Quansah buy-back and why it won’t be activated
They say Liverpool would have to pay €80m to bring back the 23-year-old before the end of May.
There’s as close to zero chance of that happening as possible, with Liverpool waiting on Geovanni Leoni’s return and they’ve also signed Jeremy Jacquet for next season in a €72m deal with Rennes.
However, Quansah will continue to be the subject of speculation at Leverkusen should his form continue, and other clubs without a set figure could well offer a lower price in the summer.
