Lamine Yamal’s father was far less magnanimous than his son after losing out on the Ballon d’Or.
The Barcelona starlet invited his whole family to the Paris ceremony, clearly with the hopes of winning football’s biggest individual prize.
He didn’t leave empty handed, taking the Kopa Trophy, but he lost out on the main prize to former Barca man Ousmane Dembele.
Passing through the media zone, Lamine‘s father, Mounir Nasroui, told journalists: “Next year it’s ours.”
He then later joined El Chiringuito and gave a dose on controversy that the channel is famous for.
“I won’t say robbery, but this is moral damage to a human being,” he said.
“I think Lamine Yamal is the best player in the world, by a long shot. Not because he’s my son, but because he’s the best player in the world. I think he has no rivals.
“We have to say that something very strange happened here.”
