Borussia Dortmund and Germany have issued comments on Karim Adeyemi’s penalty order for illegal possession of weapons.
The winger has been handed a fine of over €400,000 for the possession of a taser and brass knuckle duster.
Addressing the issue, Dortmund said: “BVB always takes criminal allegations seriously and uses them as an opportunity to discuss them with its employees while maintaining confidentiality.”
Germany were far more in depth in their analysis, with DFB head Rudi Voller addressing the issue extensively.
“We want to calmly discuss this with Borussia Dortmund,” said Voller on ZDF.
“There was never anything to complain about in the national team about the lad, who actually never did anything wrong in his club.
“But we also live in a certain culture of outrage in Germany. Everyone always finds something to complain about.
“But without wanting to sugar-coat it – that wasn’t right of the lad, and we told him so. It was naive or stupid, whatever you want to call it, to put it on the internet.
“I don’t even know exactly what was in it (Adeyemi’s TikTox box). We’ll deal with it calmly before the next international match in March. Dortmund have it under control now.”
