Jens Lehmann hasn’t got time for Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann’s latest excuse.
Germany extended their winless run with a 2-0 defeat against Slovakia to open World Cup qualifying and post match Nagelsmann said his team had an ’emotional’ problem.
Lehmann has since responded, swatting that explanation aside.
“I think emotions are always a very easy excuse,” Lehmann said before taking aim at Nagelsmann.
“What we’re fundamentally lacking is the players’ training and their ability to organise themselves on the pitch in difficult situations. There’s not much outside input.
“Really perceiving what’s happening on the field is doubly difficult for a young coach who hasn’t seen much and has never played at the highest level himself.
“And then to say there’s a lack of emotion is too simplistic. That’s softening the public.”
