Forgotten Wolves striker Sasa Kalajdzic has completed a rather remarkable season back home in Austria.
The lofty 28-year-old striker has been through hell and back in recent seasons, including suffering an ACL tear on his high-profile Wolves debut.
Loaned out to Eintracht Frankfurt where he was again injured, he’s now back in Austria with LASK, who are now double winners.
Kalajdzic won the first major honour of his career on May 1st with the Austrian Cup, and he’s now an Austrian Bundesliga winner thanks to a 3-0 final day win.
What makes the feat even more remarkable is that it’s LASK’s first league title in 61 years.
The result also earns them a place in the Champions League and the riches that come with it.
Speaking post-match, captain Sascha Horvath said: “For me, it’s a clear miracle.
“It’s unbelievable. I haven’t had a drink in a long time, but today I’m going to have a few beers.”
Coach Dietmar Kühbauer, added: “When I arrived, our goal was simply to survive. And that was already difficult.
“I’m so incredibly proud of the team. What the team has achieved since I’ve been here is indescribable. I’d love to adopt them all.”
