Real Madrid will have to stick with the knock-off Jose Mourinho after being dismissed by the real deal.
Madrid are currently coached by Alvaro Arbeloa after sacking Xabi Alonso, and the newbie manager has regularly professed his love for ‘Mou‘.
Seen as a Florentino Perez absolutist, a number of Spanish pundits have predicted that Perez will end up just going back for the real deal, particularly with things not going well for Mourinho at Benfica.
However, the former Los Blancos coach had no interest in the rumours when asked after his side beat Rio Ave.
“Don’t count on me for soap operas,” he said in classic fashion.
“There are good soap operas, but they take too long; you miss an episode or two and then you lose track.
“Don’t count on me, because I don’t watch soap operas.”
