With Jordi Cruyff finally officially named Ajax sporting director, one of his first jobs will be to find a new head coach for next season.
The son of the legendary Johan has taken up the post at the stadium named after his father.
Ajax started the season under John Heitinga who was sacked, and interim Fred Grim will lead the side until the end of the season.
Then, Xavi Hernandez could be an option for Ajax.
AS journalist Javier Miguel has linked the Barcelona legend with the post thanks to his excellent relationship with Cruyff.
The pair worked together at Barca where Xavi won LaLiga as head coach during the 2022/23 season.
The Catalan also speaks superb English, a pre-requisite for coaching Ajax, and he has been out of work since May 2024.
