Together in the European Super League, Joan Laporta and Florentino Perez aren’t exactly putting forward a united front.
The Barcelona and Real Madrid presidents will not be continuing their traditional pre-Clasico dinner, reports 3cat.
The official reason cited is busy schedules, but quite clearly, there are more problems at hand.
Perez didn’t attend last season’s Clasico in Barcelona after offensive tweets about Vinicius Jr from Barca board member Mikel Camps.
There have also been multiple battles off-field, with Laporta bemoaning Madrid’s role in the ongoing Negreira case match-fixing case.
Laporta has responded by talking about ‘Sociological Madridism’, seen as a reference to bias from dictator Francisco Franco, and he already raised tensions before his return with a banner which read ‘looking forward to seeing you again’ outside of the Bernabeu.
