Troy Parrot was overcome with emotion again, but not the good kind.
Fresh off of five goals in two games to book Ireland a World Cup qualifying play-off spot, Parrot was perhaps a little too overconfident back in the Eredivisie with AZ.
The Alkmaar side have been in good form and pushing for a Champions League spot, but a 1-0 defeat to Twente was a big blow.
Things could’ve been so different too, with AZ given a stoppage time penalty to grab a point.
Up stepped Parrot, and his Panenka penalty went straight over the bar, leaving him with his shirt over his face in embarrassment.
To make matters worse, it was his third missed penalty in a row, making him only the third player this century to do so in the Eredivisie.
