There were some incredibly heart-warming scenes in the second tier of Belgian football following the death of the father of Jong Genk’s goalkeeper.
Brent Stevens, who is just 21, lost his dad before the fixture against RFC Liege.
Liege won the second tier clash 3-1, but in the closing stages could’ve made it four from the penalty spot.
However, Stevens saved a penalty, and the rival home stand then burst into applause.
At full-time he then approached the fans and even got hugs from them in emotional scenes.
Speaking after the event the youngster said: “What the Liège players and supporters did before and after the match exceeded all my expectations.
“They showed a lot of respect. It proves that you can see different things in the world of football. Hats off to the people of Liège.”
