A spokesperson for the Iranian Football Federation has revealed that the nation has been banned from the 2026 World Cup draw by Donald Trump.
The draw for next year’s tournament is set to take place on December 5 in the US, but according to Amir-Mehdi Alawi, the IFF won’t be there.
The ban extends to the president of the Iranian Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, coach Amir Ghalenoei, and seven other federation officials.
Nearly two million Iranians live in the US, but have seen family reunification visas blocked by the current government.
