Movistar’s ‘The Day After’ has delivered the goods again, and it’s bad news for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Monday LaLiga show publishes clips from games that weren’t seen on the live broadcast and it’s usually lip-read subtitles that cause a stir.
However, this time it was a gesture from Dani Carvajal that wasn’t too hard to interpret.
Real Madrid captain Carvajal continues to warm the bench since Trent’s summer arrival from Liverpool and Alvaro Arbeloa won’t be changing things.
Yet that hasn’t stopped Carvajal from mocking his competition at right back.
During one attack in the 1-1 draw against Real Betis, Trent lost the ball in the opposition half and failed to track back.

The cameras then switched to Carvajal making a slow walking gesture with his fingers on his leg to a teammate.
The clip will undoubtedly cause issues, but Arbeloa has shown no signs of switching things up at right back.
“He’s showing a good level, he deserves to play, his performance is beyond question,” Arbeloa said of Trent.
“Every match is a matter of life and death for me; when I put a player in, it’s because I believe he deserves it and because I think it’s to win.
“I don’t give anyone a single minute [out of charity].”
