One of Real Madrid’s captains, Dani Carvajal has no concerns about Kylian Mbappe upsetting their dressing room.
The PSG megastar looks almost certain to move to LaLiga this summer after informing the Paris side that he will be leaving as a free agent.
Unfortunately for him, Mbappe has been at the centre of a number of high-profile squabbles, earning him an unwanted reputation.
In the summer of 2022 the striker looked set to join Madrid, but changed his mind at the last minute, and many in the Spanish capital never forgave him.
One of those watching on cautiously was new Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe, who’s now explained: “I would prefer to try to sign the next Mbappé, instead of spending a fortune trying to buy success. It is not so smart to buy Mbappé. Anyone can realize that.
“It is much more difficult to find the next Mbappé, Bellingham or Roy Keane
“The solution is not to spend a lot of money on a couple of great players. They [United] have done that if we look at the last 10 years.”
Despite his warnings, Madrid won’t spend a transfer fee on Mbappe due to his contract expiring.
They will, however, make him the highest-paid player in Europe, with a deal expected to gazump the rest of the dressing room.
Carvajal was asked if that could cause problems and replied: “There will be no jealousy.
“The people who have been in the club the longest are in charge of keeping everyone rowing in the same direction.
“When someone goes off the rails a little, they will have to be grabbed by the ear and put back on track.”
