Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has tried to put and end to his back and forth with Neymar.
The Real Madrid legend became Brazil coach in June and is yet to call Neymar up into his squad.
While Neymar certainly isn’t at his Barcelona best, he is back playing week-in week-out at Santos after a year out with an ACL while playing for Al-Hilal.
However, when Ancelotti said the 33-year-old wasn’t in his latest squad due to his fitness, Neymar publicly contradicted him, insisting he wasn’t injured.
Now, in an interview with L’Equipe, Ancelotti has made it clear to Neymar in no uncertain terms what he’s looking for in his Brazil squad.
“He will be able to participate in the World Cup if he is physically fit,” he said.
“From a technical point of view, there is no discussion. His objective must be to be ready in June. It doesn’t matter whether or not he is on the list in October, November or March.
“A national team should bring together the most talented players. That’s obvious, right? But a talented player must also be physically fit. He must be at 100%, not 80%.
“Neymar is improving his condition. He is undoubtedly the most talented Brazilian player. He had a small physical problem and recovered quite quickly.”
