Sérgio Conceição’s start at Milan has been all over the place, but he’s at least got the club’s backing over one issue.
The former Porto coach arrived at the start of the year and began by winning the Supercup, but their Serie A form has left a lot to be desired.
With some slip-ups on the pitch and in press conferences, Milan regained some form with a 3-2 win over Parma, but Conceição made bad headlines again as he nearly came to blows with Davide Calabria.
The pair had to be separated over a disagreement about a late substitution, and despite playing matters down post-match, Calabria has lost the war.
Gazzetta dello Sport claim that despite the Milan captain avoiding any fine or suspension from the club, the action has made their minds up over a contract extension.
Born and bred with Milan and raised through the club’s academy, Calabria has almost 300 appearances for Milan, but those in charge of the club have now decided a renewal won’t be offered when his current contract expires this summer.
