The Premier League has come under fire from two German greats.
Tottenham may have beat Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night, but pre-match two former Bundesliga stars were highly critical of the hosts.
Citing such little bang for their buck Prime pundit and 2014 World Cup winner Christoph Kramer said: “What’s happening at Tottenham, what’s happening at Manchester United right now, is almost uniquely bad in the world. That has to be said honestly.
“In my opinion, English football, with the amount of money flowing in, is not good enough – even across the board.
“There are a few clubs where money meets expertise: then something like what happens at Arsenal, at Liverpool, I don’t know, at City…
“But in terms of breadth, the English league is, in my opinion, not good enough for the amount of money being put into it.”
Mats Hummels agreed with his former teammate adding: “For the amount of money available here, it should be much more dominant.
“In my opinion, it isn’t. There’s a lot of money. What’s being done with it definitely has room for improvement.”
