Fernando Diniz has been relieved of his duties as Brazil’s head coach just five months before the Copa America.
The Brazilian, who was job sharing with Fluminense, where he massively impressed, winning the Copa Libertadores.
However, for the national team, things have recently been disastrous without a win in four in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
That’s seen the football association call time on Diniz, although who will replace him continues to be a mystery.
FA head Ednaldo Rodrigues, who is currently embroiled in controversy, had previously announced that Carlo Ancelotti would manage the side for the Copa.
The Italian has since re-signed with Real Madrid, leaving Brazil managerless with only two friendlies left to play before the Copa in the US.
Recent reports claim that Brazil now want Jose Mourinho and are prioritising his appointment.
However, much like Ancelotti, Mourinho‘s preference is to stay at his current club, Roma.
That’s easier said than done though, with Roma yet to hand the Portuguese a contract extension despite his constant pleas in the media.
