There is finally some good news at Borussia Dortmund with the much sought-after Felix Nmecha deciding to stay at the club.
Reports all across Germany claim the German midfielder has signed a contract extension from 2028, keeping him with BVB until 2030.
The news comes just a day on from Didi Hamann telling Bayern Munich to sign Nmecha.
“What Munich lacks is a player like Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha,” he wrote.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if the FCB bosses have already made inquiries about him.”
Manchester City have already been monitoring their former academy player too, but both clubs will have to wait, or pay a likely hefty contract clause.
Germany’s top pundits rave about Nmecha
Hamann has also insisted that Nmecha has to start for Germany at the 2026 World Cup.
“If he stays healthy, there’s no way around him at BVB and in the national team,” the former Bayern player said.
“He also belongs in the starting eleven for me in the DFB team.
“For me, Nmecha is the outstanding player at BVB . You can see in him what incredible potential he has.
“Depending on who he plays with, whether Bellingham or Sabitzer, Nmecha is the one who gives the team security.”
In agreement was fellow Sky pundit Lothar Matthaus who commented: “Felix Nmecha and Aleksandar Pavlovic are the two players I favour in this position in the national team.
“Nmecha in the more offensive role as an eight, Pavlovic as a more playful six who gets the balls when Joshua Kimmich is not playing there.”
He also added: “If Felix Nmecha continues this development and remains free from injuries, then he will not only be the focal point in Dortmund, but can also be the pace-setter in the national team, which Kimmich is no longer due to his new position.”
