UPDATE: Duran travels to Lisbon
Record report that Jhon Duran is traveling to Lisbon to complete his loan deal from Al Nassr to Benfica.
Negotiations began last week and Duran considers the deal done, ready to sign his contract and undergo a medical.
Benfica are set to land a potentially game-changing signing in Jhon Duran.
The Colombian is set to sign from Al Nassr on a loan with an option to buy, Record report.
They add that Duran has made ‘significant concessions’ to get the deal over the line, likely financial.
Duran formerly lit up the Premier League while at Aston Villa and was set to join Chelsea before Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr swooped in with a massive £64million offer.
Duran shone at Nassr but never settled, leaving on loan to Fenerbahce and then Zenit St Petersburg where he continued to regularly find the net.
However, during both of those stints the loan club covered Duran’s salary costs, something Benfica are certainly unable to do.
Yet the striker is willing to forego his payments and considers the deal done, just waiting for Nassr’s final approval, as he’s desperate to play in a top European league and under Marco Silva.
