Benfica have put out a strong denial over a clash between president Rui Costa and Real Madrid staff members.
The Eagles posted on social media after a tense Champions League defeat to Real Madrid saw Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe make racism allegations against Gianluca Prestianni.
After the match Spanish radio station Cadena Cope claimed Benfica president Costa was involved in a tunnel confrontation.
“It was between Rui Costa, the president of Benfica, and a member of the Real Madrid delegation,” they reported.
“There were shouts, insults, and they had to separate them.”
The next morning, Benfica wrote on social media: “It is completely false that the president of Sport Lisboa e Benfica was involved in any discussion or physical confrontation with a member of Real Madrid.
“This is a totally false and unfounded accusation.”

Video footage appears to contradict Benfica claims
However, their social media channels have been filled with responses appearing to show the moment captured on US broadcaster CBS.
Reporter Guillem Balague was in the tunnel recording when noise could be heard beside him.
The cameras turned to where Costa could be seen.
Balagué said: “The arguments continue now.
“Rui Costa is in the middle of it, there are Benfica staff trying to go to the changing room of Real Madrid and are being stopped.
“Quite clearly UEFA don’t want any of this to be filmed, but the tension is happening behind us.
“Some of the staff are trying to get to the Real Madrid changing room and journalists and everybody are trying to get to the position.”
