With Catalunya out voting in the Barcelona elections, Lamine Yamal has given a late show of support.
Barca’s star No.10 is undoubtedly the most high profile player currently at the club, and seems to have declared himself in favour of Joan Laporta.
Lamine posted a picture of himself and Laporta on his Instagram story with blue and red hearts to his 40million followers.
The show of support comes with Laporta seeking re-election against Victor Font.
Lamine emerged under Laporta, and also signed a new mega contract under his guidance, clearly happy to stay at the club.
That’s a stark contrast to his No.10 predecessor Lionel Messi, who has done plenty to derail Laporta’s campaign without saying anything.
His former manager and teammate Xavi came out in Font’s favour, saying Laporta blocked a return for Messi in 2023.
The act was hitting Laporta where it hurt the most, but now the man seeking his fourth term has taken fans back to the present by getting Lamine’s support on the final day.

On top of Lamine giving Laporta his backing, the three-time president went out on the final day of campaigning with women’s megastar Aitana Bonmatí.
The three-time Ballon d’Or winner went and voted with Laporta, perhaps throwing the tide back to the man seeking re-election.
