Barcelona’s LaLiga title charge continued to crumble against Getafe, and Gavi didn’t take it too well.
Hansi Flick’s side made it just one win in eight league games against the Madrid minnows and they could end the weekend seven points behind Real Madrid.
Jules Kounde looked to have put Barca on their way to an easy win in the ninth minute but after Mauro Arambarri made it 1-1 the scoring was over for the day.
That proved too much to take for some of Barcelona‘s players, particularly Gavi who displayed some petulance in the closing stages.
Movistar’s El Día Después which transcribes zoomed-in moments from players claims the young midfielder asked Getafe’s Yellu Santiago: “Who are you, who are you? You are terrible, wake up, you are terrible.”
It turns out Gavi didn’t stop there, though, with Juan Iglesias laying into him in the media post-match.
“I didn’t like the fact that Gavi told us we were going to second division,” he said.
“Also, he said it with his hand over his mouth and I told him that if he is old enough to tell us to go to second division, he is also old enough to do it without hiding anything.”
