One of football’s biggest emerging talents, Alejandro Baldé won’t have many more awkward moments in his Barcelona career.
The left-back was speaking to the media ahead of Barca‘s crunch Champions League tie with Atalanta, but rather embarrassingly didn’t know the name of the opposition coach.
When asked about their Serie A rivals, Baldé congratulated them on their title-challenging season and success winning the Europa League last season.
Yet when an Italian journalist asked specifically about their iconic head coach Gian Piero Gasperini, Balde rather awkwardly replied: “Who is this gentleman?”
After being informed by the Barca press office he then added: “Oh, is that their coach? I’m really sorry, I don’t know him.”
The room then laughed in unison, and thankfully for Barca there won’t be any damaging revenge with the LaLiga side already qualified for the last 16.
