Real Madrid could have some fears about their Santiago Bernabeu hosting the 2030 World Cup if Morocco’s plans are anything to go by.
Architecture firm Populous have released new images of a the proposed King Hassan II Stadium that they plan to have prepared in time for the 2030 tournament.
The arena, that will be located in Casablanca, plans to have 115,000 seats, a new world record for a football stadium.
FIFA have already given their approval to Real Madrid to host the final at the Bernabeu, with the tournament to be spread across Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
However, the latter’s record-breaking arena may well shake things up ahead of time.
The King Hassan II Stadium is expected to cost over €500million, and be finished in 2028.
