Luis Enrique has plenty of astonishing players at PSG, but there’s one he sees as almost perfect.
While Ousmane Dembele won the Ballon d’Or and Vitinha is being touted for the next edition, it’s a less glamours position he believes is going under the radar.
And no it’s not the world class Achraf Hakimi, nor even Golden Boy Award winner Desire Doue.
“I don’t know if the perfect player exists, I don’t think so,” Luis Enrique said in his press conference.
“If there is a player with qualities in physical, technical and personality aspects, then Nuno Mendes would clearly be close to perfection.”
Roberto Martinez agrees with Luis Enrique
Backing up his point is previous comments by Mendes’ other manager, Roberto Martinez.
Speaking last year the Portugal coach went above and beyond to praise his defender despite possessing talents like Cristiano Ronaldo and the aforementioned Vitinha.
“I used to think that the perfect player didn’t exist, but Nuno is very close to that,” Martinez said.
“For me, Nuno Mendes is the best left-back I’ve ever seen. He can play out wide or inside. He’s very fast and has great passing ability.
“Mendes and Vitinha are way above the rest, both at club level and in terms of their profile.”
