Having called time on his brief singing career, Sergio Ramos is turning to business with former side Sevilla.

Cadena SER report that the former Real Madrid captain is leading a group of investors and has now made a serious offer to buy Sevilla, an offer that has been provided to the club’s shareholders.

Sevilla were earlier the subject of interest from a US fund, but things reportedly cooled significantly once they did their due diligence and saw how bad the club’s finances really are.

Ramos has some experience in management, having invested in San Fernando along with former Sevilla sporting director Monchi.

The 39-year-old was born in Sevilla and came through at the club’s academy until 2025 when he switched to Real Madrid to become an all-time footballing legend.

He later returned to Sevilla for a single season in 2023/24, but his comeback received a cold reaction from supporters, but that hostility could change should he help solve their financial troubles.

He last played for Monterrey in Mexico and while he hasn’t formally retired, a Sevilla takeover would surely put an end to his playing career.
