Gabon’s Thierry Mouyouma has laid into Marseille over a disagreement about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at AFCON.
The Ligue 1 side believe their striker is injured and shouldn’t yet be available for selection, but Mouyouma disagrees, including him in Gabon‘s line-up for a shock 3-2 defeat against Mozambique.
Asked about the disagreement with OM post-match, he said: “The AFCON is the third most important competition in the world. This disregard for the AFCON must stop.
“We don’t take orders from anyone to use players who were born in the country. That applies to Marseille and all clubs who might think the same.”
He then stepped things up, continuing: “I am outraged by Marseille’s attitude. They pay the player when they use him. They do what they want.
“Following the improvement in the player’s physical and physiological condition, the Gabonese coaching staff decided to give him a chance, because the nation is currently struggling.”
