Julian Nagelsmann has given Antonio Rudiger a stern warning before a potential return to his Germany team.
Rudiger was suspended after Real Madrid‘s Copa del Rey final defeat to Barcelona where he threw a bag of ice at the referee and had to be held back by his teammates.
Rumours were rife that he would miss Germany’s June fixtures as a punishment, but knee surgery has ruled the defender anyway.
Yet with that injury ending the conversation, Nagelsmann wanted to make sure Rudiger got the message.
“He’s reached the limit,” the Germany manager said. “He shouldn’t allow himself to do any more, otherwise there will be greater consequences.
“He knows it was wrong. At some point, you have to give him the chance to do better. We’re in that phase now.”
