It’s been a busy summer so far for Bayern Munich, but honorary president Uli Hoeness thinks everyone needs to calm down.
So far the record Bundesliga champions have signed Joao Palhinha, Micheal Olise and Hiroki Ito, and they’re being linked to ever more signings.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons is the most heavily rumoured, while Leipzig‘s Dani Olmo, Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah and Rennes Désiré Doué have all reportedly been approached.
However, according to Hoeness, none of those arrivals will be happening any time soon.
“I’ve been reading about it all the time in the last few days, that this guy is coming for 90 million, that guy for 50, and that guy for that. That’s all nonsense,” he said. “No more players will come unless one, two or three players leave first.
“We now have three additional players, costing a total of 125 million. And if theoretically, no one leaves, we will have three more players and will soon be able to travel to the game in an articulated bus.
“Max (Eberl) and Christoph Freund know full well that from now on, new players can only come to FC Bayern if one or two prominent players leave first. Because FC Bayern doesn’t have any money-wasters.
“As of now, we have three additional, relatively expensive players. And we haven’t sold any of the players who could or should be sold.”
