Xabi Alonso could find his way out of Bayer Leverkusen next summer for free.
That’s according to BILD, who say the Spaniard has a termination clause in his contract, but only for three teams.
Those are three of the most important of his career, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Alonso is a club legend for all three sides, and with his current form would be an attractive proposition for any of them.
In his first senior job in football, Alonso has Leverkusen undefeated and top of the Bundesliga, playing some incredible football.
Multiple reports from Spain claim Alonso has already been chosen as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor at Real Madrid next season.
That move would be made much easier by his termination clause, despite his Leverkusen contract being valid until 2026.
